Hello, Toddler Families!

What a beautiful week we had in the classroom after the President's Day break and refreshing our shelves with Purim works for all of your learners! Add in the glorious sunshine and we've seen so much laughter and growth. As we enter into the wet season, thank you for always reading the daily notes and continuing to send in additional pants, shirts, and socks. We will of course continue to use the rain suits and boots to keep them dry!

Continuing from a previous Peek discussing the concept of less is more, the Prepared Environment is taught by Dr. Montessori as vital to our children's freedom, learning, and development in any given space. The Prepared Environment is the idea that everything has a purpose and a place. Amazingly, this includes the Morahs (and caregivers). We are considered to be a part of the environment in a child's learning.... quiet and still and available. Each morning we take great pride in guaranteeing your children walk into an environment where every work is complete and everything is in its place. This allows them to be most successful and establish a beautiful sense of pride in their accomplishments. You may see this happening at home, as well!

Home Tip: if a puzzle piece is missing, or a book page is torn out, or another toy cannot be used as designated -- remove those items from the child's space. When our children choose a work, knowing that they can complete it each time, it helps create a sense of stability, predictability, and safety. It's unbelievable how these traits are so important and show up in so many different ways as they grow into young adults!

Warmly,

Morahs Megan, Sarah, and K
