Dear Chai Tots Parents,
An area of focus in the Alef class is language exposure and early communication. Talking with the babies throughout the day, demonstrating sign language, narrating care routines, naming objects and responding to the babies sounds and expressions. Even before words emerge, babies are constantly absorbing language.
Through songs, books and simple conversations, we’re building a strong foundation for communication. These moments help the babies connect sounds with meaning and feel understood in their interactions. Language exposure also supports social connection and cognitive growth from a very young age.
We use sign language throughout the day to help the babies learn to express their wants and needs. We continue working on the signs for “more, eat, all done” and have introduced the signs for “milk and please”.
We love hearing their babbles, watching their reactions, and seeing their excitement during these shared moments. It’s such a joy to support the beginning stages of communication and connection.
